Vox for Android

Privacy

Vox runs entirely on-device: recording, whisper.cpp transcription, and the Gemma cleanup pass all happen locally, with no cloud API in the loop. The only network activity is a one-time download of the speech and cleanup models (roughly 740 MB, over Wi-Fi) the first time you launch the app; dictation itself works fully offline after that.

The waitlist email form on this site is operated by Buttondown; an address you submit there is used for release announcements and nothing else.

Questions: haden.cain@gmail.com. Last updated 2026-07-30 — this page changes before the app's data handling does.
